Serving at Saint Charles
Acolyte Ministry
We are blessed by responsible and caring Acolytes who serve the priest at the altar during worship services and other services during the year. As head servers and crucifers, they perform the duties of leading the flow of the service, assisting with the sacraments and alms giving and as Chalice Minister. We are pleased that so many of our young people have joined this ministry. If you would like to be trained in this ministry, please contact Mike Severin. Due to COVID protocols, currently there is only one acolyte serving at the altar.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild consists of a group of 6 dedicated and dependable women offering their services to God and the Church. Under the direction of our Rector, we prepare for all the worship services. In the words of one clergyman, we are “God’s housekeepers” and it is our privilege to set the Table for the Eucharist. Preparing a place for the Eucharist is preparing for a family celebration, decorating suitably for the guest of honor by putting out fresh linens, clean vessels, wine, bread, candles, flowers and presenting the vestments. We also have additional “behind the scene” duties to administer. Though the pandemic has greatly changed our communion practices, we are blessed to be able to worship in person. We welcome anyone interested in serving on the Altar Guild to contact Jackie Eurich at 867-2578, or any Altar Guild member.
