Rising Up

St. Charles is a supporter of the Rising Up program, which is located in the annex building of the United Methodist Church at 527 State Street, Fort Morgan. Rising Up provides three main services to Morgan County: The Warming Center, The Client Choice Food Pantry, and the Day Center. The Warming Center provides shelter to the homeless during the coldest months of the year. It is open from November to March.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner Committee

For 17 years Saint Charles sponsored the Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Fort Morgan, serving about 125 people in the beginning and nearly 650 in 2017. In 2018 and 2019 the Student Senate at Fort Morgan High School took over the planning and preparation of the dinner. In 2020 the serving of a community meal is no longer a possibility. Because of these unprecedented circumstances, remaining funds with the CTDC are helping to provide food for Brush Community Cupboard and Rising Up Food Pantry. The committee is chaired by Timmy Fritzler and Nancy Severin, and joined by Steve Proctor and Mike Severin. They will continue to provide for future community food needs as the funds allow.
